Skye's Number 1 tour guide Peter is a local historian and gives lectures on the true story of Flora MacDonald, Highland heroine of the 1745 rebellion. Every detail of island life is told, its history, its culture, its people, the mountains and wildlife from BC to the present day.
Tours are conducted in the luxury of a 7 seat Vauxhall Zafira People Carrier. Peter also acts as driver / guide in clients own vehicle or courier in coach tours.
Peter also owns and runs the Flora Macdonald Hostel& Lodge, a self catering modern backpackers Hostel and Mrs MacDonald runs an excellent B&B establishment.

Guides for visiting Coach Tours Driver / guides for clients in their own private cars 'Clan Tours' throughout Scotland Isle of Skye Grand Tour The Isle of Skye Grand Tour is a magnificent conducted 136 mile tour in a deluxe seven seater people carrier which takes its participants around the whole Island, covering all the major places of interest. Every detail of the Island's history, people, mountains, wildlife, Clan warfare and myths and legends (from pre-Viking times to the present day is included). This personalised tour takes 6 1/2 hours and is exclusive to a party of up to six adults. THE HOSTEL The Flora Macdonald Hostel and Lodge stands in magnificent surroundings at Kilmore in the south end of the Isle of Skye approximately 2.5 miles north of Armadale Pier on the A851 (click here for a map). It is situated on its own at the foot of the hills, 5 minutes away from the Sea and has a private car park as well as free transport to and from the ferry.
The Hostel has just recently been upgraded and reclassified to 2 Star, and has full central heating. It provides accommodation for 20 persons, with solid pine bunks. It is fully equipped with a modern kitchen with all accessories, a drying room with washing machine and tumble dryer. The hostel also has a conservatory for relaxation. The cost per person is £11 with discounts for group bookings.
The Lodge The lodge is situated alongside the Hostel and caters for families and smaller groups who seek more privacy. It has a kitchen, bathroom and three bedrooms with occupancy of 4,4 and 2 respectively. Each room has colour TV and pine bunk beds with all bedding provided. Prices range from £28 to £45 per room per night. The entire lodge can be hired for £130 per night / £860 per week.
The Bed & Breakfast Mrs Macdonald's B&B has a double en suite room and a twin room overlooking the Minch towards the Scottish mainland and Knoydart. Mrs Macdonald can be contacted on the number at the bottom of the page.
The Location The Sleat peninsula is known as the Garden of Skye and renowned for its magnificent grandeur. It is a haven for geology students and offers a variety of wildlife, including golden and sea eagles, red and roe deer, otters, foxes and other species too numerous to mention.
Rare Eriskey ponies are bred on the family croft.
