Dunsgaith Castle
(pron doon-scaa) is a dangerous ruin. It was built in
a single night and became part of the legend of Cuchuillin,
the 3rd c. Irish warrior-hero. His dog, Luath, was tied
to the rock Clach Luath next to the track, such was
its size (another reliable Skye story). Dunsgaith was
the home of the MacDonalds of Sleat until the early
1600s. |
